Shazam! is a fantasy film that is a casual and successful comedy about one of the superheroes of the DC Comics series. It is great for both youth and adult audiences parodying the genre. Directed by David F. Sandberg, it was released in 2019 and is currently playing on Netflix<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the beginning, we are briefly introduced to a magical event in the life of a boy in 1974, riding in a car with his brother and father, who treat him coldly, critically and mercilessly. During the trip, the boy teleports inside a dark fortress whose walls are supported by demonic statues. Deep inside, an old man sits on a throne – the heir to extraordinary powers. Due to his weakening powers and advanced age, he is looking for his successor. The boy is put to a test of “purity of heart”, but fails. When he fails the Wizard hears that he “will never be worthy” to learn the magic secret.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many years later, as a financially well-off man full of resentment, he directs research to lead him back to the Wizard. When his plan comes to fruition, he decides to unleash the monsters locked in the fossils and allows himself to be swayed by the urge to take revenge and do evil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We then move to modern day Philadelphia, where we meet Billy Batson, a troubled teenager in search of his mother. Billy is raised in an orphanage. He has already been placed with a foster family several times, but none of the attempts has succeeded. The boy is convinced that his biological mother will eventually take care of him and that he lost her by accident. In the film, we witness another entrustment of Billy. In the Polish system, we could say that it is a family orphanage. The new guardians give the pupils freedom of feelings, necessary support, understanding of the difficulties experienced in the new environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One evening Billy finds himself in the fortress of the Wizard, who has been constantly looking for his successor. This time, the Wizard recognizes the good in the boy, which he himself does not see, and gives him superhuman powers. The boy turns into a robust man in a superhero costume. Unfortunately, the Wizard gives up the ghost along with passing on his magic, and Billy is forced to discover his superpowers on his own. In time, aware of his abilities, he confronts evil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the very funny tone of the film, the important themes it raises come to mind. Above all, they concern children, their sensitivity and the influence of adults on the future. The characters share good and evil, but each of them started out as an innocent child, full of needs, rich in imagination, looking for love. The sad metamorphosis of the first protagonist was largely dictated by the lack of understanding from his brother and father. Having heard repeatedly that he would never be good enough, the boy devoted his entire life to proving what he was worth. As an adult, he still seeks approval and avenges himself of all the unpleasantness he suffered as a child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reality often shows the intensity with which our words are received by children. Comments about us or our surroundings shape their world view. It is adults who teach us to distinguish between good and evil, not always intentionally. Unfortunately, sometimes they turn out to be precisely that evil, leaving a mark on children who did not know it before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group of children who represent good and victory in the film “Shazam!” is made up of pupils from children’s homes. They are very young people who have already experienced fate. Thanks to their new guardians, who show understanding and try to convey as many positive emotions as possible, the children regain their balance and feel loved and needed. Despite the lack of biological ties, together they form a real family, surrounding each other with support and tolerance for each other’s needs. They are a group of people who may have been destroyed by past events, but with a little help they have gained new strength. With great fortitude, they can face further adversity. And by learning what love and caring is, they bring out a “purity of heart” that gives supernatural powers and spreads to others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Na pocz\u0105tku poznajemy kr\u00f3tko magiczne wydarzenie z \u017cycia pewnego ch\u0142opca z 1974 roku, jad\u0105cego w samochodzie z bratem i ojcem, kt\u00f3rzy traktuj\u0105 go ozi\u0119ble, krytycznie i bezlito\u015bnie. W trakcie wycieczki ch\u0142opiec teleportuje si\u0119 wewn\u0105trz mrocznej twierdzy, kt\u00f3rej \u015bciany podpieraj\u0105 demoniczne pos\u0105gi. W g\u0142\u0119bi na tronie siedzi starzec – dziedzic niezwyk\u0142ych mocy. Ze wzgl\u0119du na s\u0142abn\u0105ce si\u0142y i zaawansowany wiek szuka swego nast\u0119pcy.  Ch\u0142opiec zostaje poddany pr\u00f3bie “czysto\u015bci serca”, kt\u00f3rej jednak nie zdaje. Gdy zawodzi Czarodzieja s\u0142yszy, \u017ce “nigdy nie b\u0119dzie godny” pozna\u0107 magicznej tajemnicy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Po wielu latach, jako dobrze usytuowany finansowo m\u0119\u017cczyzna, pe\u0142en urazy, kieruje badaniami, kt\u00f3re maj\u0105 doprowadzi\u0107 go ponownie do Czarodzieja. Gdy jego plan si\u0119 urzeczywistnia, decyduje si\u0119 na uwolnienie zamkni\u0119tych w skamielinach potwor\u00f3w i daje si\u0119 zaw\u0142adn\u0105\u0107 rz\u0105dz\u0105 zemsty i czynienia z\u0142a.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Billy Batson<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Nast\u0119pnie przenosimy si\u0119 do wsp\u00f3\u0142czesnej Filadelfii, gdzie spotykamy Billy’ego Batsona – niepokornego nastolatka, kt\u00f3ry poszukuje swojej matki. Billy wychowywany jest w Domu Dziecka. By\u0142 ju\u017c kilkukrotnie umieszczany w rodzinie zast\u0119pczej, jednak \u017cadna z pr\u00f3b nie powiod\u0142a si\u0119. Ch\u0142opiec jest przekonany, \u017ce biologiczna matka w ko\u0144cu si\u0119 nim zajmie i \u017ce utraci\u0142 j\u0105 przypadkiem. W filmie jeste\u015bmy \u015bwiadkami kolejnego powierzenia Billy’ego. W polskim systemie mo\u017cna by powiedzie\u0107, \u017ce to rodzinny dom dziecka. Nowi opiekunowie daj\u0105 wychowankom swobod\u0119 uczu\u0107, niezb\u0119dne wsparcie, zrozumienie dla trudno\u015bci prze\u017cywanych w nowym otoczeniu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pewnego wieczoru Billy trafia do twierdzy Czarodzieja, kt\u00f3ry w ci\u0105gu ostatnich lat ci\u0105gle szuka swego nast\u0119pcy. Tym razem Mistrz rozpoznaje w ch\u0142opcu dobro, kt\u00f3rego on sam nie dostrzega i przekazuje mu nadludzkie moce. Ch\u0142opiec zmienia si\u0119 w ros\u0142ego m\u0119\u017cczyzn\u0119 w kostiumie superbohatera. Niestety Czarodziej oddaje ducha wraz z przekazaniem swej magii i Billy zmuszony jest samodzielnie odkrywa\u0107 swoje zdolno\u015bci. Z czasem, \u015bwiadom swoich mo\u017cliwo\u015bci, staje do walki ze z\u0142em.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pomimo bardzo zabawnego wyd\u017awi\u0119ku filmu, na my\u015bl przychodz\u0105 istotne w\u0105tki, jakie porusza. Przede wszystkim dotycz\u0105 one dzieci, ich wra\u017cliwo\u015bci, wp\u0142ywu doros\u0142ych na przysz\u0142o\u015b\u0107. Bohaterowie dziel\u0105 dobro i z\u0142o, jednak ka\u017cdy z nich zaczyna\u0142 jako niewinne dziecko, pe\u0142ne potrzeb, bogate w  wyobra\u017ani\u0119, szukaj\u0105ce mi\u0142o\u015bci. Przykra metamorfoza pierwszego bohatera by\u0142a w du\u017cej mierze podyktowana brakiem zrozumienia ze strony brata i ojca. Ch\u0142opiec s\u0142ysz\u0105c wielokrotnie, \u017ce nigdy nie b\u0119dzie wystarczaj\u0105co dobry, po\u015bwi\u0119ci\u0142 ca\u0142e \u017cycie na udowadnianiu tego, czego jest wart. Jako doros\u0142y m\u0119\u017cczyzna nadal szuka aprobaty i m\u015bci si\u0119 za wszystkie przykro\u015bci jakie dotkn\u0119\u0142y go w dzieci\u0144stwie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Odr\u00f3\u017cnienie dobra od z\u0142a<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Rzeczywisto\u015b\u0107 niejednokrotnie pokazuje z jak\u0105 intensywno\u015bci\u0105 nasze s\u0142owa s\u0105 odbierane przez dzieci. Uwagi dotycz\u0105ce nas lub otoczenia kszta\u0142tuj\u0105 \u015bwiatopogl\u0105d. To doro\u015bli ucz\u0105 odr\u00f3\u017cnia\u0107 dobro od z\u0142a, nie zawsze zamierzenie. Niestety czasem okazuj\u0105c si\u0119 w\u0142a\u015bnie tym z\u0142em, odciskaj\u0105 pi\u0119tno na dzieciach, kt\u00f3re nie zna\u0142y go wcze\u015bniej.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grupa dzieci, kt\u00f3ra reprezentuje w filmie “Shazam!” dobro i zwyci\u0119stwo, z\u0142o\u017cona jest z wychowank\u00f3w Dom\u00f3w Dziecka. S\u0105 to bardzo m\u0142ode osoby ju\u017c do\u015bwiadczone przez los. Dzi\u0119ki nowym opiekunom, wykazuj\u0105cym si\u0119 zrozumieniem i staraj\u0105cym si\u0119 przekaza\u0107 mo\u017cliwie jak najwi\u0119cej pozytywnych emocji, dzieci odzyskuj\u0105 r\u00f3wnowag\u0119 i czuj\u0105 si\u0119 kochane oraz potrzebne. Mimo braku wi\u0119zi biologicznych wsp\u00f3lnie tworz\u0105 prawdziw\u0105 rodzin\u0119, otaczaj\u0105 si\u0119 wsparciem i darz\u0105 tolerancj\u0105 dla potrzeb drugiej osoby. Jest to grupa os\u00f3b, kt\u00f3r\u0105 mog\u0142y zniszczy\u0107 wydarzenia z przesz\u0142o\u015bci, ale z odrobin\u0105 pomocy zyskali now\u0105 si\u0142\u0119. Dysponuj\u0105c wielkim hartem ducha, mog\u0105 zmierzy\u0107 si\u0119 z dalszymi przeciwno\u015bciami losu.
