Do you know where Shiga is? We already do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One day after the Tokyo 2021 Olympics began, we met with students from the University of
Shiga <\/a>University. Admittedly only virtually, but for the past 2 years it’s actually normal. Preparations for the games began in November 2020. That was when Professor Chikakane wrote for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meeting with students from Japan was an interesting experience. In a month, another one. And in February 2022 there is hope for personal contact, because students from Shiga will be in Poland and we plan to spend time together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately the Polish Post Office failed us and we didn’t receive the package with the necessary materials. The first meeting with Soroban took place without an abacus. But maybe it was supposed to be so, because more time could be spent admiring the Master in action. Rui Kitamura is Japanese Master of Soroban calculations, she took 1st place at the age of 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the meeting we talked for a long time about the fact that in Polish school, no one teaches the use of abacus. We joked that if a student did the calculations from memory (multiplication of four-digit numbers), the teacher would write on the report card “where did you get this result?”.
It was a Saturday morning. It was time well spent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Czy wiecie gdzie le\u017cy Shiga? My ju\u017c tak. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jeden dzie\u0144 po rozpocz\u0119ciu olimpiady w Tokio 2021, spotkali\u015bmy si\u0119 ze studentami z Uniwersytetu <\/a>
w Shiga<\/a>. Wprawdzie tylko wirtualnie, ale od 2 lat to w\u0142a\u015bciwie normalne. Przygotowania do zacz\u0119\u0142y si\u0119
w listopadzie 2020 roku. Wtedy profesor Chikakane napisa\u0142 po raz pierwszy.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spotkanie ze studentami z Japonii by\u0142o ciekawym do\u015bwiadczeniem. Za miesi\u0105c kolejne. A w lutym 2022 jest nadzieja na kontakt osobisty, poniewa\u017c studenci z Shiga b\u0119d\u0105 w Polsce i planujemy wsp\u00f3lnie sp\u0119dzi\u0107 czas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Niestety Poczta Polska zawiod\u0142a i nie dostali\u015bmy przesy\u0142ki z potrzebnymi materia\u0142ami. Pierwsze spotkanie z Soroban odby\u0142o si\u0119 bez liczyd\u0142a. Ale mo\u017ce tak mia\u0142o by\u0107, bo wi\u0119cej czasu mo\u017cna by\u0142o po\u015bwieci\u0107 na podziwianie Mistrzyni w akcji. Rui Kitamura jest Mistrzyni\u0105 Japonii w Obliczeniach na Sorobanie zaj\u0119\u0142a 1 miejsce w wieku 12 lat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Po spotkaniu d\u0142ugo rozmawiali\u015bmy o tym, \u017ce w polskiej szkole, nikt nie uczy pos\u0142ugiwania si\u0119 liczyd\u0142em. \u017bartowali\u015bmy, \u017ce je\u015bli ucze\u0144 zrobi\u0142by obliczenia w pami\u0119ci (mno\u017cenie liczb czterocyfrowych) to nauczyciel napisa\u0142by mu np. na kartk\u00f3wce \u201dsk\u0105d ten wynik?\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To by\u0142 sobotni poranek. To by\u0142 dobrze sp\u0119dzony czas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
